Alice Youngberg Kozlowski, passed away peacefully on April 6th at Shorehaven nursing home at the age of 94. Alice was born in Chicago, IL on January 18, 1921 to Karl and Martha Youngberg. After graduating from Austin High School, she became Executive Secretary for Mr. Will C. Grant, founder and CEO of Grant Advertising in Chicago, IL.,an international ad agency, where she worked for many years. While on a Caribbean Cruise, she met the love of her life, Max Kozlowski; they were united in marriage on October 13, of 1963. They lived a happy life at Max's lovely home in the Village of Oconomowoc Lake, WI., until 1972 when Max sadly passed away from brain cancer, at age 63. Alice then became a real estate agent and worked for Stapleton Realty, eventually becoming their bookkeeper and legal assistant until her retirement at age 84. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Alice volunteered for many organizations in the Oconomowoc area, including Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital and Silver Streak taxi service for seniors. She was preceded in death by her parents Karl and Martha, husband Max, step-son Paul, sister Mildred Engstrom, and brother Walter Youngberg. She is survived by her brother William Youngberg; nephews David (Mary) Youngberg and Rob Youngberg; nieces: Julia Boyum (Bob) Prichett, Judy (Bob) Olson, Elaine (Chaz) Brecker, and Alice Hale; step daughter-in-law Cindy Kozlowski; step-grandchildren Linda, Michael (Annette) and Joseph Kozlowski. She is further survived by step great-grandsons, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. A memorial service to honor Alice's life will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015, 3:30PM at Pagenkopf Funeral Home in Oconomowoc. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Shorehaven Health and Rehab.
