Anita T. Lagerman

Anita Therese Lagerman born March 19th, 1962 was called home June 21, 2017. She was born in Milwaukee and grew up in Brookfield until she moved to Oconomowoc for the last 34 years. Anita is survived by her lifelong companion and loving mother, Karen J. Lagerman, her siblings Paul Lagerman (Lisa), Bruce Lagerman (Carol), Gail Santilli (Jim) and Lisa Seward (John). Anita is further survived by many nieces and nephews; Larissa, James, Kira, Nick, Shaya, Rosanne, Malia, Matthew, Emmaline and Analise and Grand Aunt to 13 nieces and nephews. Anita was preceded in death by her father, Bruce R. Lagerman and her grandparents. She graduated from Marquette University with a bachelor in Biomedical Engineering and then returned to school and earned her Master of Business Administration. Anita's United States Postal Service career lasted 26 years beginning in 1991 and working in numerous Postal offices; Milwaukee, Oconomowoc, Hartford, Menominee Falls, Lake Mills, Burlington and ending in Watertown, WI as Postmaster. She thoroughly enjoyed serving the patrons of Watertown, decorating the post office for many different seasons and driving the postal truck in the Christmas parade. She was always crafting and collecting. Anita enjoyed painting (pumpkins), wood carving, projects with the nieces, boating on her pontoon, thrifting - finding the deal, the great outdoors, sunsets, the beach, building snowmen, spending time with the kids, her cabin - Camp Hill n' Gully, Michigan UP pasties, world traveling, photography of clouds and sunsets, collecting Petoskey and Pudding stones, smelling flowers, observing Sneaky Squirrel and various birds. Caregiver to the family, Anita looked after her grandmother Rose in Pontiac, Michigan and then later her Great Aunt Sue from Houghton, MI and her mom always. Anita was an amazing sister and Aunt, caring for her siblings in times of need; nieces and nephews whenever she could. She was a tutor to Emmaline and Analise spending special moments with them and supporting their music. If there was a table at a family event for the kids, Anita would sit at the table with the children or in a tent with them. She'd say, 'Act old later, forget the world for a minute, take lots of naps, daydream, watch the clouds go by, smile, go barefoot, play in the sand, giggle, relax, collect shells, let the tide wash your feet.' God will take people when He wants to; Anita was pretty special because He took her home earlier than most. She was brilliant and beautiful, generous and loving - the very best of our family all in one. Brain cancer came, and then she went. But I know that she is resting in the arms of Jesus. I will see her again. As we will say, 'she is our angel now'. Rest in Peace, Angel Anita. You are well-loved. A memorial will be held for Anita at St. Catherine of Alexandria church; W359N8512 Brown St., Oconomowoc, WI on Saturday, July 8th, 2017. Visitation at 9:30am, Mass at 11am.
