Anna Mae passed away peacefully with her daughter Mary at her side on Monday February 18, 2013 at Shorehaven Health Center in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. She resided at Shorehaven for the last 12 years and where she was known for her cheerfulness and smile despite years of chronic pain. She maintained her mental sharpness and kept exact records of all her accounts. She enjoyed being outside in her special summer hat. In addition to being loved by her family, she was loved by many Shorehaven staff and residents. Her family will always be grateful for her wonderful care there. Anna was born on May 13, 1931 along with her twin brother L. Harley Wegner in Sullivan, Wisconsin. Her parents were Albert Wegner and Irene (Freelove) Wegner of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her older brother Edwin Wegner of Galt, California. She was united in marriage on June 1, 1953 to LeRoy Francis Garity at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sullivan, Wisconsin. Anna and LeRoy adopted their daughter Mary Joy (Garity) Seitz on December 1st, 1959.LeRoy preceded Anna in death on January 4, 1984. Anna spent most of her life on farms in the Oconomowoc and Jefferson Wisconsin areas. She was a farmer's wife in rural Sullivan, Wisconsin. She was in charge of preserving all the vegetables produced on the family acre vegetable farm, including her special mustard pickles and chili sauce. Her fried chicken was enjoyed by many. She was a member of the Sullivan United Methodist church. She helped manage apartments in Milwaukee. She leant a helping hand to many, many people. She was a talented artist and is especially known for her murals at the Oconomowoc Canning Company, her drawings for the Sullivan United Methodist Church and her pen and ink drawing of a cowboy being thrown from a bucking bronco. She is survived by her daughter Mary Joy (Garity) Seitz of Madison, Wisconsin; her brother L. Harley Wegner and his wife Penny of Edinburgh, Texas (winter) and Watertown, Wisconsin (summer).Her closest relatives are her nephew Larry Wegner and his wife Angela Graf of Lutz, Florida; her niece Diane (Wegner) Greenwood and her husband Dennis Greenwood of Oconomowoc, WI; her niece Kathy (Wegner) Warren and husband Thomas Warren of Watertown, Wisconsin; her niece Linda (Wegner) Corey and her husband Jack Corey of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; her nephew Robert Wegner and his wife Tammy Wegner of Interlachen, Florida and her sister-in-law Florence (Garity) Landgraf of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Anna requested no flowers for her funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made for the Shorehaven prayer garden. Memorial services for Anna Mae Garity will be held on Friday March 1, 2013 at Shorehaven Health Center Chapel at 1305 West Wisconsin Avenue, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Visitation will start at 2 p.m. and will be followed at 3 p.m. by a service led by Chaplain Mark Ryberg. 'I am resurrection and life say the Lord'.
