Anne M. Jensen

Anne M. Jensen, age 79, of Oconomowoc, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2012. She is survived by her two sons Donald R. Jensen, Jr. of Milwaukee, WI and William V. (Cathie) Jensen of Prior Lake, MN, grandchildren Katie Jensen, James Jensen, Kayla (Jason) Pietsch, Bryan Jensen and Billy Jensen, great grandson Aidan Pietsch, along with other relatives and friends. Anne was preceded in death by her husband Donald R. Jensen, Sr., parents William H. Browne II and Eleanor Edwards and brother William H. Browne III. Anne Jensen was the matriarch of an Oconomowoc baseball family that's spanned nearly four decades as her husband Don 'Windy' Jensen and two sons, Don Jr. and Bill, all played baseball at various levels in Oconomowoc Land O' Lakes, little leagues and high school. There were many car pool trips to baseball practice and thousands of hours spent traveling and cheering on the 'Jensen Men and Boys of Summer'. Anne was the consummate entertainer who loved to cook and made sure everybody had enough to eat at the Jensen home during post-game celebrations…and there were many! In the mid-70's, she and her husband Windy opened 'Windy and Anne's Club 94' in Delafield, Wisconsin where great food and drink as well as the perfect gathering place was enjoyed by many patrons. Anne ran the kitchen at Club 94 as if it were a Five-Star Supper Club and it always showed in the attention to detail of the many home-cooked meals she served there. Growing-up in Evanston, Illinois, Anne attended Northwestern University and fine-tuned her artistic talents as she could often be found charcoal sketching portraits of horses grazing or in full stride. Her love of horses was quite evident whenever various equestrian and horse races were televised as she didn't want to be disturbed. In her final years, Anne continued to show deep love and devotion for her sons, grandchildren and daughter-in-law. Anne will be remembered for being a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and most certainly a friend to those that knew her. She will be missed greatly by everyone that was fortunate to have known her. A visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Pagenkopf Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Anne will be laid to rest on Monday, February 27, 2012 at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia, WI with a chapel service at 1:00 p.m. If desired, memorials are appreciated to, Humane Animal Welfare Society, 701 Northview Road, Waukesha, WI 53188.
