Arthur L. Ericksen

ARTHUR L ERICKSEN, age 94 of Oconomowoc WI Passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Angels Grace Hospice. Art was born November 14, 1929, in Chicago IL to Alfred and Ruth Ericksen. He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother Leif.

Art grew up in Chicago and the family moved to Silver Lake WI when Art was a teenager. Art attended Wilmont High School and the University of Wisconsin.

Art was employed in the sales department of Nash Motors in Kenosha WI when he was drafted and sent to Korea in 1952. Art returned in 1954 and became employed in the wholesale lighting industry. In 1959, he became self-employed, forming Ericksen Lighting Sales (ELS) where he worked with architects and engineers on lighting specifications.

In 1996, Art merged Ericksen Lighting Sales with Total Lighting Sales of Milwaukee where he remained on as a consultant. He retired from the lighting business when he was 86 years old and began volunteering at Angels Grace Hospice.

Art had an extraordinary gift for friendships. All through the years he maintained friendships with high school buddies, service buddies, colleagues, clients and neighbors. Art was a member of various local service clubs and the American Legion.

Art enjoyed alpine skiing with his family and friends, reading historical biographies and, his very favorite activity, golfing with his buddies.

Art loved and demonstrated his love for his family, wife Dian (70 years married); sons Arne and Alan (Ole); daughters Andrea Andrus (Edward) and Alison; grandchildren James Ericksen, Kristof Rixmann, Klaudia Rixmann and Jonathan Andrus.

Art loved his home in the country shared with llamas, goats, chickens, dogs and cats.

Art spent his last 5 days peacefully in the loving care of his family at Angels Grace Hospice.

A gathering will take place at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (2228. N. Silver Maple Lane, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a private family burial.
