Arthur Terry Kraemer passed away on August 9, 2024, at his home in Oconomowoc, WI, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 10, 1935, in Milwaukee, WI, to his parents Arthur and Florence Kraemer (nee Block).
Arthur was a proud graduate of Carroll University in 1957 and went on to further his education at the Stonier School of Banking at Rutgers University and the American Institute of Banking. With his expertise, Arthur founded the Greater Milwaukee Bank, the Village Bank of Elm Grove, and was the owner of Hartland National Bank and Continental Bank and Trust. His dedication and entrepreneurial spirit led him to sell his banks to M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank, marking a significant milestone in his career.
Despite retiring in 2001, Arthur's passion for the banking industry remained unwavering. He continued to share his knowledge and leadership as the Chairman of the Board of M&I Lake Country Bank, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working with him.
In 1994, Arthur and Renate relocated to Boca Grande, where they quickly became an integral part of the community. He served several years as a board member of the Boca Grande Club, contributing his time and expertise to the betterment of the club and its members.
Arthur was a man of many passions, finding joy in activities such as golf, tennis, racquetball, and spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He also had a deep appreciation for American-made guns, classic cars and a martini on the rocks with an olive and a twist. Arthur found solace in the company of his family, relishing the moments spent at the Mercer cabin, surrounded by those he loved most, as well as his cherished dogs and cats.
Arthur is survived by his wife of 66 years, Renate (Peachy); his children Scott Allan (Terese) Kraemer and Terri Anne (Ken) Ullman; grandchildren Mason Kraemer, Cristian and Olivia Ullman, Erika and Estevan Garza; great-grandchildren Roman and Reese Garza; brother William C. Kraemer; along with other family and friends.
