Arthur Weidner

Arthur R. Weidner, age 84 of Sullivan, passed away after complications following a long illness, on Thursday, January 12, 2012. Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jeanette (nee Nelson), children Daniel (Kathy) Weidner of Bonduel, WI and Vincent (Sandy) Weidner of Waukesha, WI, granddaughters Jane Weidner of Sheboygan, WI, Susan Weidner of Orlando, FL, Maribeth Weidner of Sullivan, WI, Julie Weidner of Basel, Switzerland and Amy Weidner of Duluth, MN, sister Patricia Johnson, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Arthur was preceded in death by his son David Weidner and parents John and Helen Weidner of Wisconsin Dells, WI. Funeral services for Arthur will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, W405 State Road 18, Sullivan, WI. Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. An evening visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, January 16, 2012 at St. John's Lutheran Church from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Arthur worked at Waukesha Engine Division for over 40 years as a machinist and upon retiring he delivered parts at Jack Safro in Oconomowoc. He served his country during WWII in the Navy on the USS Witek, EDD 848. Arthur enjoyed traveling. He was a lifetime member at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sullivan, where he sang in the choir. He was also a chairman of the congregation for a period during his membership. Arthur was a devoted husband, father and grandfather; he loved his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed his time on the family farm in Sullivan, especially mowing the lawn. Arthur will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
