Austin Joseph Burns

On September 10, 2022, Austin Joseph Burns passed peacefully from this earth after 105 years of life.

Austin was born an only child in Lacrosse, WI in 1917 while WWI was raging across Europe. He Lived through much of the history of this country and, as a WWII, veteran, participated in it as well.

Austin had a lively mind and an excellent intellect. He was a wealth of knowledge in many disciplines including Medicine, Science, Religion and more. He delighted in sharing his knowledge and was a wonderful talker.

He loved Notre Dame and ND football along with the Packers and the Cubs and talked about his teams until his end.

Austin had no family but is survived by many friends that he made along his way. There will be a military Honor Guard service for Austin at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring St. Union Grove Wisconsin at 9 am on September 30.
