Barbara Mollgaard

Barbara (Bonnie) Marie Mollgaard nee Held, age 72, passed peacefully on to her eternal home surrounded by her family. Survived by her loving husband Nick of over 50 years. Daughter Patricia (Robert) Wallis, sons Rick (Neela), and Nick. Beloved granny to Shelby (Nate) Heinle, Matthew Wallis ( Mackenzie Cook), Ariana, Maya and Lucas Mollgaard. Best 'GG' ever to Eliana and Levi Heinle. Brother John (Grace) Held, best friend Linda Krause and many other special friends and relatives. She spent her time enjoying the many things she loved; especially time with her family on North Lake, swimming, biking, snorkeling, baking and cooking during the holidays, and gardening. That love of gardening led her to become a Master Gardener. She traveled all over the world and enjoyed sharing stories of her travels with her friends and the residents of Shorehaven. She spent many hours volunteering for Relay for Life, Christmas Fantasy House, Shorehaven and Channel 10 auction and her church. Bonnie's strong faith has sustained her these last 11 years battling breast cancer. At the age of 65, after surviving her first bout of breast cancer, she completed her first triathlon. She continued her love of exercise by continuing to train for triathlons even after her cancer had spread. The family would like to thank the many friends that richly blessed her life. Especially the very best friends/neighbors on Clearwater, everyone at Dr. Dale Johnson and Dr. Kristen Vento's office, Rainbow Hospice, and UW- Madison Clinics. Even though her time here was too short she felt she had a very full and blessed life. Per Bonnie's request no funeral will be held as she wanted to be remembered full of life. She was blessed to have had the ability to have a 'live' funeral in her last days with visits from most of her friends and family. The Mollgaard women will be walking in the Susan G. Komen 3- day cancer walk in Chicago next August. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mollgaard team via the Susan G. Komen website or to the MACC Fund so we can continue to fight this awful and miserable disease. 'This is the day the Lord has made rejoice and be glad in it'
