Dr. Barry Wayne Baumann, DDS Born September 22, 1949, passed away January 31, 2015 Beloved son of the late Lorraine and Charles Baumann; loving husband to Diane; devoted step father of Kristen Anderson and Bradly (Ellen) Anderson; extremely proud grandfather to Everly Anderson; fabulous brother to Charles (Cher) Baumann, Craig (Laurie) Baumann, Warren (Kristin) Baumann, and Annette (Mark) Evans, Barb (John) Gehrke, Russell Back; devoted uncle to Keif (Julie) Baumann, Jake Baumann, Corey (Jessica) Baumann, Cayla (Amanda) Baumann, Sara Baumann, Luke Baumann (Bethany), Max Evans, Elliot Evans, Trevor (Amy) Back, Tyler (Stacey) Back, Matt (Marci) Gehrke, Jenelle (Bill) Blavat; God-Father of Steven Wein and great-uncle of Hannah Baumann, and Alex Baumann. Following his graduation from Wauwatosa East High School, Barry attended UW-Milwaukee for his undergraduate, and Marquette University where he earned his DDS. Barry loved dentistry and was dedicated to his patients and staff at his dental practice in Wauwatosa, WI. His staff was very important to him and he considered them his family. Barry was active at Marquette University where he was an adjunct professor for the School of Dentistry and the deputy of the ETA ETA chapter of Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity where he received the Distinguished Service Decree. Barry was an active member of the Odontological Society, American and Wisconsin Dental Association and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He was also involved in the community of Wauwatosa where he served on the Chamber of Commerce. Barry loved his country and supported many charities including the Wounded Warrior Project and the Honors Flight for Veterans. Barry truly loved life and he knew how to live vivaciously. In his 20’s he was a disc jockey for WMSE radio known as “the rock dentist”. He loved to travel the world and captain his boat in Door County, WI. He was a marvelous cook and loved to cook for his friends and family. Barry’s true loves in life were his family, dentistry, and Door County. His kids, nieces, nephews, and granddaughter made his soul happy; he was devoted to their happiness and loved nothing more than spending time and mentoring them. He was well respected and loved by his family, friends and co-workers and will be sorely missed. Barry will be remembered for his sense of humor, sensitive soul, brilliant mind, honesty, integrity, and generosity. Barry was truly larger than life -DMFD. Donations in Barry’s name can be made to Wounded Warrior Project www.woundedwarriorproject.org A celebration of Barry's life will be held on Friday, February 6th at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 145 East Lisbon Road in Oconomowoc at 4:00 PM. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.
