Betty Tschurwald

Betty Tschurwald, age 98, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 14, 2016. Betty is survived by her son Robert (Gerlinde) Tschurwald; her grandchildren Steven (Dawn) Tschurwald and Jennifer (Luke) Roffler; her great granddaughters Ava, Lila, Annika and Evelyn; her sister Mitzi Huebl and many other loving family and friends. Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband Tony of 63 years. Betty grew up in a small town in southern Austria. In the summer of 1936 a young man named Tony, who had immigrated to the United States just a few years earlier, came back for a visit. Betty caught his eye and it was love at first sight. He returned the following year and married her. At the age of 19, she arrived at her new home in Milwaukee with a lot of spirit and courage, but no knowledge of the English Language. With lots of love, an incredible work ethic and the attitude that nothing is impossible, the two of them built a beautiful life together. In 1948 their son, Bob, completed their family. In her 98 years Betty saw a lot of changes in the world and always adapted. She always kept her hands and mind busy. Most of all she will be remembered for dedicating her life to her family, her wonderful cooking and baking and her beautiful handwork and flowers. She was and will continue to be an inspiration to all of us. Services for Betty will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park in the Chapel of the Chimes (13235 W Capitol Dr, Brookfield, WI) on Saturday, September 24. A visitation for family and friends will start at 10:00 AM with a service at 12:00 PM and a burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to AngelsGrace Hospice in Betty's name are appreciated.
