Boyce Edmund Wilcox, Jr.

Boyce Edmund Wilcox Jr. passed away March 18, 2024 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Boyce was born May 1, 1941 in Sparta, Wisconsin. Son of Boyce E. Wilcox Sr. and Almina A (Heath) Wilcox. He graduated from Tomah High School in 1959. Boyce served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964.

On October 31, 1964 Boyce married his soul mate Dolores A. Loppnow. Together they raised three daughters; Wendy, Lynette, and Heather. Boyce was a man who embodied hard work, integrity and wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty.

Boyce worked at Louis Allis for 33 years in the production department of electrical motor winding, then moved on to become a machinist. After the unexpected closure of Louis Allis he went to Moraine Park to get certified as a CNC Machinist. Then in 2001 he went to Visa Lighting to continue his career as a CNC machine operator, he worked there until his retirement in 2003.

In retirement, you could find Boyce tinkering in the garage, riding his beloved John Deere riding lawn mower, or watching John Wayne Westerns.

Boyce is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dolores, his daughter, Heather (Mark) Backhaus, son in law, Jack Medlock, granddaughters Caitlyn (Doug) O’Bryan, Jenna (Tanner) Stanossek and great-granddaughters Claire and McKenna. He is further survived by his brother Kenneth (Doris), sisters Jacquelynne Ossmann, and Sue Wilcox, along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Further preceded in death by his daughters Lynette Cornelius and Wendy Medlock, sister Nancy Jenkins, brother William Wilcox and his parents.

The family would like to thank Common Heart Hospice for his care, especially to Lynn, Rebecca and Avery. Thank you for all of your kindness, compassion and dignity given to Boyce during these last few weeks.

A visitation to celebrate Boyce's life will take place on Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 10:00am-12:00pm at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (NEW LOCATION: 2228 N. Silver Maple Lane, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) with a service to follow. Military honors will be accorded after the service.
