Carl T. Syburg

Carl T. Syburg of Genesee Depot, WI passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 6, 2015 at the age of 87. Carl was born on November 17, 1927, in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated from Ripon College in 1950. Carl is lovingly survived by his wife Janet (Nee Lowry) and his children Charles (Kristen), John (Julia), James (Mary), Susan Mayer (Steve) and Tom, and 13 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. After a long and successful career at Rex Chainbelt (Rexnord) and moving to Genesee Depot, he immersed himself in the art of blacksmithing. His passion for wrought iron work took him to many parts of the country learning, sharing and making new friends in his retirement. He and Janet also spent countless hours volunteering at Ten Chimneys, helping in the restoration of this historic property. Carl was preceded in death by his brother Fred, granddaughter Stacey, and daughter in-law Karen. For those of us mourning the loss of Carl, our ears still ring with his beautiful voice singing Hoch Soll Sie Leben, the Our Father or Silent Night (Stille Nacht). Celebration of Carl’s Life 3:00 PM Saturday, January 17, 2015 at First Congregational Church of Mukwonago, 231 Roberts Drive Mukwonago, WI 53149.
