Carol Ann Brown

Carol Ann Brown (Meyer), age 71, died peacefully while sleeping in her home in Nashotah, WI, on May 18, 2020. She died of natural causes after enjoying a full life, with “lots of butter” and maybe some wine. Carol was a beloved mother, grandmother (Maña), sister and aunt. She loved her three children dearly and couldn’t have been more proud of Christine Barley (Mike), Cindy Blue (Larry), and Scott Volling (Christina). And for the last 23 years, her 8 grandchildren have been her life -- Jordyn, Abby, Willie, Isabelle, Jacob, Joshua, Lincoln and Easton. Carol was born in Oak Park, IL on July 20, 1948, and was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Betty (Berg) Meyer, and her beloved grandmother, Olive (Grandma Ol). She is survived by her children and grandchildren, her beloved brother Bill Meyer, and many nieces and nephews. Carol graduated from Wauconda High School in Illinois, and spent most of her life in the Round Lake Area as a long-time Baxter employee. She relocated to Wisconsin 11 years ago to stay close to family, and got a job working for Miracle Ear in Brookfield as a receptionist. She loved her job, loved interacting with people, and always had a smile on her face. She attended Lake Country Bible Church for many of the years she lived in Wisconsin. Carol loved animals, specifically her pets and our pets, and enjoyed watching “puppy shows” on TV with her grandchildren. She also loved watching the squirrels playing on her patio. Carol will be remembered for her beautiful smile, big heart, strong work ethic and love of life and fun. As per her wishes, there will be no funeral and she will be cremated. She would want us to remember all the fun times, and not her funeral. The family will be celebrating her life with a barbecue, which is what she was waiting patiently for while we waited for this COVID thing to pass. In fact, she had already declared we were going to have a bbq Memorial Day weekend, even if we were all wearing masks (in between bites of bratwurst, of course). We will keep her close in our hearts, and we’re grateful to know she is at peace, with no knee pain, in Heaven. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Humane Animal Welfare Society.
