Charles Thomas Hendrickson

Charles Thomas Hendrickson, 85 of Oconomowoc, passed peacefully from the loving arms of his wife of 64 years, Vivian, into the arms of Jesus his Savior on Saturday, September 28, 2013. Chuck is further survived by his children Jan Shackleton, Kay (David) Blank, Drs. LeaAnn (Neal) Schroeter and sister Lois (William) Van Dyke. Loving grandfather, 'Papa,' to Kelly (Thomas) Dorner, Nicole (Brian) Roell, Brendon (Katie) Blank, Melanie Blank, Ethan (Melissa) Blank, Lara Schroeter, Elsa (Jonas) Haberle, Britta Schroeter and Anna Schroeter and great-grandfather, 'Poppie,' to Emma, Alaina and Evan Roell. Chuck is preceded in death by his parents Sigfried and Leona Hendrickson and sister Marilyn Kubik. Chuck loved spending time with his family and was active at Crosspoint Communtity Church, serving as an elder, trustee and deacon. He loved the Lord and taught Bible studies. He was active in Gideons International and shared his faith in Jesus at the Waukesha County Jail. Chuck retired from United States Gypsum Company and Fiberesin Industries in 1993. Chuck loved the outdoors which included hunting and fishing. He graduated from Michigan State University with an engineering degree and was always the family 'go-to-guy.' If something needed to be repaired or a problem needed to be solved, Dad was always there for us. He showed his love through his actions. Funeral services for Chuck will take place at Crosspoint Community Church, W380N6931 North Lake Road in Oconomowoc, on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 4:00 P.M. Visitation for family and friends will be from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Private burial will be held at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Crosspoint Community Church or Gideons International.
