Christopher Robert Ireland

Christopher Robert Ireland, age 48 of Oconomowoc, WI passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017. Chris was the beloved son of Robert and Donna (Weibel) Ireland. He was a proud father to Craig Ireland with whom he shared a very special bond. He graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1986 and continued his education at Fox Valley Technical College Police Academy. Chris served in law enforcement beginning with the Town of Brookfield and recently retired after 24 years with the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department. With a special passion for sports he participated as an athlete, coach and mentor. Chris especially enjoyed playing softball and coaching football. He volunteered hundreds of hours to the children and families of Oconomowoc Youth Football, including as head coach and serving on the executive board as vice president. Chris cherished each and every friendship he formed throughout the years. Chris is survived by his loving parents Robert and Donna Ireland, sister Danielle (Darin) Danelski and their children Erika, Alexis, Sam and Lizzy; brother Bryan (Nicole) Ireland and their daughter Abby; brother Jamie (Lisa) Ireland; fianc Cheri Jarchow and Craig's mother Laurel Ireland. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Chris is preceded in death by his son Craig, his grandparents Howard and Margaret Ireland, Paul and Lillian Weibel, uncle Steve Ireland and cousin Jacob Weibel. Visitation will be held at St Catherine's Catholic Church, W359 N8512 Brown St., Oconomowoc on Friday, January 20th from 2:00pm until 7:00pm immediately followed by Mass. A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials, in honor of Chris, can be made to The Make a Wish Foundation or Waukesha County Deputies Association.
