Colleen P. Van Der Kooy

Colleen P. van der Kooy, age 66, passed away at her home in Oconomowoc on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. She was born on May 24, 1957 to Douglas and Mary (Novella) Stumpf in Milwaukee.

Colleen is survived by her husband, Jacob; their seven children: Jacob (Maureen), Joseph (Erin), Amber, Jason (Courtney), Steven, Stephanie and Samuel; her grandchildren: Bodie, Amelia, Jacob, Carrington, Tristan, Brennan, Avery, Brynlee, Elijah, Carson, Jonah, Declan and Micah; and many other family and friends whose lives she touched. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Colleen was a very loving and caring woman. Throughout her life she had a number of small jobs to help support her family and keep herself busy but her main priority was always her family. She and her husband raised seven children together. Colleen spent most of that time being a homemaker and caring for her family. She was a selfless woman that would always help others before herself and give everything for her family.

In her leisure time, Colleen enjoyed reading books, spending time by her pool with family, going to local restaurants with her husband, and seeing all of her grandchildren.

Colleen will always be remembered as a devoted wife that dedicated her life to her family and being a mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

A private family service will be held to honor Colleen’s beautiful life and legacy.
