David E. Evans

David E. Evans born June 08, 1939 and died November 10, 2017 if it were up to my dad, that's all he wanted for his obituary, 'Don't make a big fuss' he said - typical 'Farmer Dave'. Well, sorry Pa, but you deserve a few words. Dave had farming in his blood and soul. Driving a team of horses was his passion. He would rather hitch a team to do field work over a tractor any day. He loved putzing around in the barn or in the yard or simply sitting on a lawn chair drinking a beer and shooting the breeze with a neighbor. He loved his wife Darlene and being with family and friends. He loved life and it showed in his eyes and infectious laugh. He will be missed by many. Dave married Darlene Gleaser on January 17, 1959. Darlene passed on January 27, 2016, exactly 10 days after their 57th anniversary. He is survived by his son Rick Evans, daughter Vickie (Steve) Richter, grandkids Angela (Jon) Newton, Tyler (Tami Crowe) Evans, Sarah (Tim) Bolin and Ryan Liesenfelder. His great grandkids Coil, Kyla and Navi Bolin, Maleah Crowe and Livia Evans, his siblings Don (Nancy) Evans and Betty Hildebrandt along with many more family and friends. He also leaves behind his faithful companion Little Leah, always at his side or on his lap. He has made many new friends since moving to 3 Pillars, residents and staff alike, some have become like family to him. Visitation will be from 10 am until 12 pm at Ewald Chapel (375 State Road 67, Dousman) in 3 Pillars on Tuesday, November 28 2017 with a memorial service to follow at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to 3 Pillars Employee Scholarship Fund. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of 3 Pillars, Pro-Health Hospital in Oconomowoc, and Waukesha. Special heartfelt thank you to Jodi Cigelske for all of her support.
