David J. Winkelman passed peacefully on April 25, 2022 at his home in Dousman. Dave was 41 years old, born January 18, 1981. He fought cardiac disease for the past 7 years with a positive outlook. David was raised on the family dairy farm and was responsible for all calves feeding. He had a love for animals and treated his dogs as his kids. He was an electronic whiz and was on call for any “emergency”. He loved computer games and recently got into Dungeons and Dragons – no judging! Dave had a love for all sports- watching, playing, and tailgating. He was known for his Red’s Rabble Rouser’s Brewers Tailgating parties and loved his Minnesota Gopher Hockey and Green Bay Packer football. Dave learned the value of team work and began working at Essential Industries in February 2002 and worked his way up to become the Director of Manufacturing. He met the love of his life, Ms. Karrie Ann Esch while at Essential. Dave put their relationship on a 10 year plan, but caved after 5 years and married Karrie June 26, 2010. They joined a sailing club and traveled the Caribbean and the Pacific. Jovial, smart, with a contagious laugh, Dave would give you the shirt off his back. He was adored by all his nieces and nephews. Dave loved having a cold beer with his friends and family. Survived by his loving wife Karrie Ann (Esch); parents Donald and Susan Winkelman (Bonn); Sister Amy Glover; brother-in-law, Daniel Glover; nephew Owen Glover and niece Sofie Glover. Survived by his loving in-laws Ray and Wendy Esch (Gitzlaff); grandmother Doris Gitzlaff; brother-in-law Corey Esch and Jolene Esch (Vorpahl); niece Georgia Esch; nephews Wyatt Esch and Quinn Esch; sister-in-law Katie Esch. Too many special friends and family to mention by name, but their love and support will hold Karrie close. Preceded in death by grandparents Kenneth and Carol Bonn; and Ralph and Mickey Winkelman. Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 7 at Okauchee Lions Community Park N49W34400 East Wisconsin Ave, Okauchee WI 53069. Starting at 11am and running until the keg runs dry (insert Dave’s laugh here!) In lieu of flowers or gifts, consider donating to the Humane Society of Wisconsin or the American Heart Association.
