Dean Robert Millett, 93, of Middlesex, NY, unexpectedly went home to his Lord and Savior on February 24, 2017 with his Granddaughter, Heidi Polidori at his side at Thompson Hospital, Canandaigua, NY. A celebration of his life and reception will be held Monday, May 1, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, (Oconomowoc Room) 1443 Pabst Farm Circle, Oconomowoc, WI 53066. A private family gathering to honor his Final Rest will be held in Summit Cemetery prior to the reception. Our appreciation to Pagenkopf Funeral Home for handling the funeral arrangements. Dean was born in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin to Bertha (Moser) and Raymond Millett on March 7, 1923. He graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1941 and enlisted in the Navy on December 7, 1942, was commissioned an Ensign (Aviator) April 25, 1944 and completed his military obligation December 29, 1945. He completed three years at the University of Washington, in Seattle, by 1948. He and his family lived from the west coast to the Midwest while he worked as a buyer for Allied Department Stores from 1952-1965. He started his own thermo-imaging company from which he retired in 1993. He moved to Canandaigua to live with his family in 2010 and was a regular attendee at the Crosswinds Wesleyan Church and Community Bible Study. He was known for his love of ice cream and his quick wit and charismatic charm. There wasn’t a person who met him who didn’t like him. Dean is survived by his two daughters, Claudia Meitner and Mary Dean Johnson and their spouses, Sean Meitner and Brad Johnson; his seven grandchildren, Kathy Cooney, Steven Meitner, Heather Meitner, Tracy Doyle, Heidi Polidori, Tashsa Burg, and Trent Johnson; eleven great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and their families, sisters-in-law, Sola Millett and Willamina Brewer and many dear friends including Jane Spicuzza and family. Dean is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mary Ann (Beauchamp) Millett, his brother, Clarence Millett, and 2 sisters, Mae Miller and Lucille Rohloff, brothers-in-law, Ken Miller and Edgar Rohloff. In addition Dean was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, Leo Beauchamp, and sister-in-law Millicent Beauchamp. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Bible Study, 790 Stout Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80921 or charity of choice. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caring and compassionate personnel of Clark Meadows Senior Living and The M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center where Dean resided over the last two years.
