Don Mericle

age 73, of Oconomowoc, passed away Friday, December 3, 2010. Don is survived by his wife Christina (nee Swanson), children Nathaniel Mericle, Jeremy (significant other Janelle Crawford) Mericle and Sarah Mericle, Aunt Dorothy Blesch and cousin Stanley Blesch, along with many other relatives and friends. Don was preceded in death by his father Lon Mericle, mother Frieda (nee Schuster) Mericle and brother Douglas Mericle. A funeral service for Don will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 36821 Sunset Drive, Dousman, WI at 1:00 PM. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the church from 11:00 AM until time of service. Burial will follow the service at Summit Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Salvation Army, 445 Madison Street, Waukesha, WI 53188 or Wildlife in Need, W340 S2383 County Road C, Oconomowoc, WI 53066. Don was a tender hearted, loving individual. He was proud of his enrollment in the U.S. Army and serving his country; he took honor in being a Mason at the Masonic Lodge in Dousman, WI. He was an electrician by trade, but many would recognize him by his love for history, antiques and preserving them. He cared for nature and all of its creatures. He was a devoted husband and father; he was proud of his family. Don was a special man who will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
