Donald B. Stocks

Donald B. Stocks 'Don', age 87 of Oconomowoc, passed away peacefully at Shorehaven on Tuesday, October 6, 2015. Don is survived by his loving wife Judy of 37 years, children James Stocks, David Stocks, Patricia (John) Bandkowski, Sharon (Fred) Meyers, Valerie (Mike) Sheehan, Gary Stocks, Candy (Lee) Meyer, Bruce Stocks and Donna (Cass) Kuzba, step-children Scott and Michael Roberts. Grandfather to 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren, siblings Robert Stocks, David Stocks and Helen Schafer. Don is also survived by his dog and best pal 'Cookie' along with many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Hadley and Leona Stocks, son Doug Stocks, sister Betty Stocks and daughter-in-law Myrna Stocks. Don was WW II Navy veteran and served on the USS A.E. General Anderson. He retired at age 54 from Consolidated Freightways as a truck driver and lived in Florida for 24 years before returning to Wisconsin in 2005. Don enjoyed gardening, traveling and playing Euchre with his family. Don's smile will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him. A celebration of Don's life will be held in the 3rd floor chapel at Shorehaven Health and Rehab, 1305 West Wisconsin Avenue in Oconomowoc on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 3:00 PM followed by military honors. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM. Service will be officiated by Chaplain Nick Slater. Don will be laid to rest at Delafield Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Don's name to Shorehaven Health and Rehab or to the Service League Tree of Love at Shorehaven.
