Donald Skonie

Donald P. Skonie of Elk Grove Village IL, passed away Sunday, October 7th. He was a dedicated loving father of three, Donna (Bruce) Pilling, Douglas (Larry) Skonie and Dawn (Eric) Haertle. Proud grandfather of seven, Rachel, Erin, Scott, Cassidy, Bryce, Luke, and Miles. Also survived by Doris Reeves and brother Tom. Preceded in death by his brother Jim. He graduated from Austin High School in Chicago,Il in 1954 and then Don served his country in the Army and was in the Koren War. He proudly served on the Elk Grove Police Department as one of the original 'Founding Brothers of Law' with 25 years of dedicated service, 1964 - 1988. Don enjoyed spending many hours at Salt Creek Golf Club, Elk Grove Bowl and later in life at the 19th hole of his favorite golf course with his friends. Donald enjoyed spending time with his family along with his many K9 companions. Memorials are suggested to the Lymphoma and Lukemia Society. Private services are being held for the family.
