Donna A. Hein – 9/22/1946 to 1/1/2018 Donna Hein passed in the early morning hours of January 1, 2018. She had been a resident of Alden Estates of Jefferson for the last 6 months as she suffered with Parkinson’s Disease. Donna Rode was born on September 22, 1946 to Benjamin and Ellen (Branback) Rode in Iron Mountain, Michigan. The family moved to Chicago, Illinois and when Donna was five years old they moved to the Town of Summit. On May 13, 1967 Donna married James Hein in Oconomowoc, where they made their home for over 50 years and he now survives her. Also surviving Donna are her children, Julie (Paul) Holbrook of Wausau, Todd (Cathy) Hein of Cadott, and Tracy (Jeff) Adams of Palmyra. Also survived by her loving grandchildren, Adam (Nurita) Holbrook, Tyler (Alyssa) Holbrook, Elijah Holbrook, Shelby Holbrook, Cassandra (Justin) Salber, Vickie (Austin) Hovel and Ruby, Hudson, and Henry Hein. Also survived by four great-grandchildren. Donna also leaves behind a loving sister and brother, Vickie (James) Schlieve and Larry (Wendris) Rode both of Oconomowoc. Brother-in-law Loren Hein of Kenosha and sister-in-law Polly (Carl) Schwartzmiller of Eagle. Many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Ellen Rode, her brother, Barry in infancy, and her parents-in-law, Clarence and Evelyn Hein. Donna graduated from Oconomowoc High School and then began her career in customer service at the Bank of Oconomowoc. She retired from Piggly Wiggly in Oconomowoc after 34 years of employment. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. When she was called “Purple Grandma” by Ruby, Donna’s eyes would light up. Many of Donna’s friends and relatives were blessed to have received her handmade items over the years. She sewed many clothes for Tracy, made beautiful quilts, and knit and crocheted afghans. Donna always had a project she would be making for someone. Services for Donna Hein will be Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 12:00 noon till the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Visitation and service to be held at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 815 S.
