Donna J. Rehn

Donna Jean Rehn (nee McMahon) Born: October 18, 1933 ~ Born to Eternal Life: July 1, 2014 Donna Jean Rehn (nee McMahon) went home to her heavenly Father Tuesday, July 1, 2014 after many weeks in the tender care of the Merrill Hills Nursing Home and Seasons Hospice in Waukesha, WI. Donna is survived by her three daughters; Gail (Dennis) Scheid of Nashotah, Julie (Brad) Bechtel of Dousman, and Michelle (Jay) Emmett of Greendale. She is also survived by four granddaughters and three great-grandchildren; Brianna (Matthew) Schmidt and sons Maison & Clayton, Stephanie (Nathan) Kleinschmidt and daughter Nora, and Rachel & Sarah Bechtel. Surviving family includes two brothers; Gordon (Mavis) McMahon of Gillett WI and James (Florence) McMahon of Madison WI, as well as her dearest friend, Marie Mader of Naples FL, and many other loved ones. Donna is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carroll L. Rehn; her parents Ross & Mildred McMahon, and brother Robert. Donna and Carroll worked side by side as owners of grocery stores in both Seymour and Hartland, WI from 1963-1992. Donna was her husband's best fishing buddy and travel companion. Their adventures stretched from Montana to Canada, the desert to the arctic, Hong Kong to New Zealand, Hawaii to the Virgin Islands and Mexico. She holds the 1979 record for the largest Walleye caught in Ontario Canada, a 31 inch 13 pound catch. When she wasn’t tending to her vegetable garden, she was cooking huge meals for her family. In this she found immense pleasure. As a long-time member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Sullivan, she was active in the quilting group and always eager to offer her homemade potato salad or cowboy beans (famous among loved ones) for a church dinner. Donna had a strong faith in her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ and knew that in her eternal life she would join loved ones who preceded her. Her family takes great comfort in knowing she is enjoying the fruits of her faith for all eternity as she awaits the heavenly reunion of all believers. She was greatly loved and will be just as greatly missed. The family will be remembering Donna at a private graveside service at St. John’s Lutheran Church. In loving memory of Donna, the family requests contributions in her name may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, W407 State Rd. 18, Sullivan, WI 53178.
