Dorothy Clara Young

Dorothy Clara Young March 12, 1928-March 24, 2022 Dorothy Clara “Dot” Young was called to eternal life at the side of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 24th at the age of 94. Dorothy was born in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin to Richard and Luella Awe. After graduation from high school, she was employed at First Wisconsin Bank in Milwaukee. She married Robert Young on October 1, 1955. Dorothy was a devout Christian and was an active member of both Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and at Living Water Ev. Lutheran Church in Wind Lake. She was an avid gardener and also enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 56 years, her brothers Russell Awe and Richard “Dick” Awe, her sister Carol Swanson, and one grandchild, Matthew Young. She is survived by her children Laurie (Mike) Dellevar, James (Michelle) Young, Barbara (Jeff) Scott, Jay Young, and Christine (Thad) Molling. She is further survived by 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Janet (Russell) Awe, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation and funeral will be held on Saturday, April 2nd at Living Water Ev. Lutheran Church, 6525 Milwaukee Ave (Hwy 36), Wind Lake, WI 53185. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 AM, with the service at 11:00 AM. Memorial gifts may be made to Living Water Lutheran Church.
