Dorothy G. Pross

Dorothy G. Pross, age 96, of Oconomowoc, WI and formerly of Atlantic, IA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 19, 2018. Her 2 sons were at her bedside when she passed very peacefully. Dorothy is survived by her children; Gary (Kathy) Pross of Frisco, Texas; David (Judy) Pross of Florence, Arizona; her 2 nieces; Diane (Allan) Petersen of Audubon, Iowa; Darlo (Dallas) Logue of Atlantic, Iowa; her 5 grandchildren and her 9 great grandchildren. Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving husband James. Dorothy was born in Atlantic on February 11, 1922 to Carl and Ida (Glade) Odem. She married James Pross on March 10, 1940 and they were happily married until his death in 1996. She lived her entire life in Atlantic until moving to Oconomowoc at the age of 90. She loved to cook and was best known for her Fried Chicken, Home Made Noodles and Popcorn. Her noodles earned her the nickname of “Grandma Noodles” by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was not fond of green vegetables but loved sweet corn and watermelon. Dorothy was fun loving and enjoyed entertaining her friends and always offered them a “Big Orange”, (Drink), during their visits. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed! A memorial service for Dorothy will take place at the Shorehaven Chapel in Oconomowoc on July 28th at 11 am. Burial will take place at a future date at Atlantic Cemetery in Atlantic, IA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy's name to Shorehaven Health & Rehabilitation Center.
