Edward Donald Burns

Edward Donald Burns, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2024. Ed was born on June 13, 1946, in Minneapolis, MN, to James and Elizabeth (nee Jensen) Burns.

Ed is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rosalía; daughter Shannon (John) Hocking; grandchildren Rieley Mercedes and Ryan Byrnes Hocking; siblings Michael Burns, Mary (d. Lyle) Nelson, Jackie (Douglas) Nelson and Kathleen (Michael) Lynch. Ed is also survived by many loving friends and family.

Ed is preceded in death by his sister Theresa (Michael) Weber.

An accomplished individual, he was the recipient of the Evans Scholar award to the University of Minnesota, where he valued education and hard work. Ed was known for his passion for golf, boating excursions with friends and family, and his adventurous spirit that led him to travel the world with his family. His commitment to his work was matched only by his commitment to serving his community as a member of the Delafield-Summit Lions Club.

In celebration of Ed's life, a private family service will be held to honor his memory.
