Edwin 'Ed' Walters, age 80 of Racine, entered eternal life on Thursday, May 11th, 2017 surrounded by his family. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Alice (nee Rupnow), his children Cindy Foth, Les (Berrack) Walters and Kirby Walters. His grandchildren Bill, Phillip, Eli, Melissa (Justin) and Alicia and three great grandchildren Noah, Levi and Tucker. He is further survived by his sisters Edna (Leroy) Roberts and Lydia (Harvey) Erickson along with many other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Ed was preceded in death by his siblings Richard, Doris, Mildred, Arthur, William and Robert. Ed graduated from Racine Lutheran High School. He then went into the Army and served in Korea and Japan, he returned home and entered the Army Reserves while attending MSOE. After school he became a manager of a National Foods Grocery store, worked as a machinist and then worked as an engineer at Modine MFG for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, cutting grass and small engine tinkering on lawn mowers. His passion was his grandchildren and spending time with them and his family. He will be truly missed by them and everyone that knew him. He also showed a love for Christ his Savior and was a member at Lutheran Chapel of the Cross in Mount Pleasant WI A Celebration of Life service for Ed will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 2:00 PM with a visitation for family and friends starting at 12:00 PM noon, all to take place at St. John's Lutheran (1501 Erie St. Racine WI) with Rev. Brian Liermann officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Racine Lutheran High School in Ed's honor.
