Ella M. Sormrud, age 92, of Oconomowoc, passed away Monday, May 3, 2010 at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc, WI. Beloved wife of the late Morlan Sormrud, cherished mother of Wayne (Elizabeth) Sormrud of Jefferson and Sandra (Fred) Alvarado of Sullivan, loving grandmother of 4 grandchildren: Kris (Tom) Lowerre of Hawaii, Kent (Sharon) Sormrud of Chetek, WI, Lisa Alvarado of West Allis and Lori (Tom) Whittier of Minneapolis, MN, 2 great grandchildren Jack and Nathan Whittier, 2 sister-in-laws Hazel Dimitroff of Dousman and Nancy McKnight of Lengby, MN; loving grandmother of 4 grandchildren: Anita, Nancy, Toni, Virgil and 4 great grandchildren Elyse, Craig, Josh and Jessica, many nieces, nephews, along with many other relatives and friends. Ella was preceded in death by infant son Herbert Kent Sormrud. Ella was born on July 22, 1917 in Hillsboro, WI. She married Morlan Sormrud on February 6, 1940. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ for over 50 years. She was a member of Eastern Star. Ella retired from the meat department of Farmer?s Exchange in Oconomowoc, WI. Funeral services for Ella will be held on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 12:00 P.M. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 815 S. Concord Road, Oconomowoc, WI. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 A.M. until time of service. Burial will be on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Hillsboro, WI with a graveside service at 11:00 A.M. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at AngelsGrace Hospice for the wonderful care they provided for Ella.
