Emily "Emmy Lou" Koehler

Emily L. Koehler 'Emmy Lou' (nee Forster), passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2015. Emmy Lou was born in Ashland, WI on April 25, 1928 to Margaret and Dr. Conrad Forster. She married Wayne R. Koehler on August 15, 1955 in Ashland, WI. Emmy Lou and Wayne have two sons, Dr. Konrad Koehler of Stockholm, Sweden and Robert Koehler of Brookfield, WI. Emmy Lou graduated from Mount Mary College and following an internship, became a registered dietitian. She was employed at County General Hospital and later Froedtert Hospital. Emmy Lou is a past president of the Milwaukee Dietetic Association. Emmy Lou was an ardent supporter of scouting as a den mother and organized outings for the entire pack. She was also a long time philanthropic supporter of the Pabst Farms YMCA that so many in the community continue to benefit from. Friends and relatives will remember her outgoing personality and willingness to help others. She loved to travel, as all will know by reading her Christmas letters. To the staff of Shorehaven Health Center and Seasons Hospice, for their loving care, we use Emmy Lou's favorite way of saying thank you, the Norwegian way, TUSEN TAKK! Memorials in Emmy Lou's name can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org. Memorial service for Emmy Lou will be held in the 3rd floor chapel at the Shorehaven Lutheran Home on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 3:00 PM. Family and friends may gather from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.
