Erica Lee Wiese

Erica Lee Wiese (Lueck) entered her heavenly home on October 21st, 2023 at the age of 76 with her son and daughter-in-law by her side. Born August 12, 1947 to Donald and Jane Lueck in Sparta, Wisconsin. She lived in Tomah, WI until the family relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she grew up with her parents and her three brothers.

She attended Riverside High School and continued her education at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee achieving her nursing degree. While attending college, she met the love of her life in her husband, Arthur Wiese. The two settled into Oconomowoc Wisconsin, where they eventually adopted their son Matthew in 1987. It was here her faith grew through their church family at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. Erica with a passion for helping others, and through her devout desire of kindness in the world, had a career that took her to utilize her nursing degree and skills to become a proud social worker for the majority of her career for Waukesha County geriatric patients.

After a long and fulfilling career, she retired with Arthur to become snowbirds and built a house in Oro Valley, Arizona. They enjoyed many a winter together, exploring God’s nature and meeting new people in their church family at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.

She had a thirst for knowledge, a passion for cooking, a love for the outdoors, and a creativity that lives on through all that knew her. Erica knew and loved her Lord and Savior, crediting her faith for her steadfastness and comfort through her many battles. One of the greatest joys she had was watching her granddaughter grow and imagining her expected grandson. She was a fighter. And wanted to leave everyone with a message: Be Kind.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Arthur, father (Donald), mother (Jane), and leaves behind her son (Matthew), daughter-in-law (Katherine), grandchildren (Violet and Arthur (soon-to-arrive)), family dog (Frankie), brothers (Douglas, John, and Curtis), and countless extended family and dear friends.

A funeral service will take place for Erica at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church (1650 Brown St. Oconomowoc) on Sunday October 29, 2023 at 3:00 PM with a visitation for family and friends starting at 1:00 PM. A burial will be held on Monday at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, where she will be reunited with her husband Aurthur.
