Eugene Torgerson

Eugene 'Gene' Torgerson, age 85 of Oconomowoc, went to heaven on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Wava Torgerson, his children: Kathryn (Richard) Wentland of Oconomowoc, Mark Torgerson of Phoenix, David (Michele)Torgerson of Oconomowoc, and James (Gina) Torgerson of Phoenix. Grandchildren: Erin Wentland, Audra (Kurt) Kretschmer, Mark (Misty) Torgerson, Tyler Torgerson, and Bailey Torgerson, along with 9 great grandchildren. He was further survived by his sister, Joann Jefson of Minnesota along with other relatives and friends. Gene was preceded in death by: his parents, Viola and Erling Torgerson, brothers-in-law: Marvin Jefson and Buster Rahn and granddaughter, Mandy Torgerson. Gene was an avid musky fisherman and he and Wava spent many summers in their camper on Sand Lake in Hayward, WI. He also enjoyed hunting and telling not-so-good jokes! He was an honorary member of the 'Clean Plate Club.' Gene was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Gene truly loved his family and will be deeply missed by all. A memorial service for Gene will be held on Tuesday, December 5th at 6:00 PM with a visitation for family and friends to start at 4:00 PM all to take place at Pagenkopf Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested in Gene's honor to the Lake Area Free Clinic or to the Time of Grace Ministry (PO Box 301 Milwaukee, WI 53201).
