Florence Mary Wiczynski, peacefully passed away on August 25, 2024, at the age of 94, in West Bend, WI. Born in Milwaukee on June 3, 1930, she was the loving daughter of Theodore and Pauline Hrycyna.
Florence found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her green thumb transformed her garden into a vibrant oasis, a testament to her love for nature. In her quiet moments, she stitched together memories in every carefully crafted piece, showcasing her skill in sewing. Her kitchen was always filled with the comforting aroma of her delicious meals, a testament to her culinary talents. She loved engaging in friendly card games of sheepshead and bridge and was an active participant in Meals on Wheels, spreading kindness and compassion to those in need.
As a devout member of St. Bruno's Church, Florence found fulfillment in serving as a Holy Angel, dedicating her time and energy to maintaining the church's sacred spaces.
Florence is survived by her husband of 73 years, Robert; children Karen E. Johnson, Robert C. (Margaret) Wiczynski, Jr. and Paul D. (Linda) Wiczynski; grandchildren Jamison (Katie) Johnson, Sarah (Chad) Kafka, Rebecca (Juan Cucuta) Johnson, Jennifer Wiczynski, Mary Elizabeth (Jarrod) Pelkofer, Louis Wiczynski and Teresa Wiczynski; great-grandchildren Haylee Johnson, Makenzie Johnson, Rey Fierro-Kafka, Reina Fierro-Kafka, Kaeva Cucuta, Celie Cucuta, Rori Pelkofer, Zoey Pelkofer, Marlee Pelkofer, Ravyn Thomas, Robyn Thomas, Julian Peña and Logan Thomas; along with many dear family and friends.
Florence is preceded in death by her parents; daughters Mary Ellen Wiczynski and Susan O’Donnell; sisters Ruth (Jerome) Maliszewski and Mary Ann Wreschnig; and brother Theodore Hrycyna.
A visitation will take place on Friday, September 6, 2024 at St. Bruno Catholic Church (226 W Ottawa Ave, Dousman, WI 53118) from 9:00am-11:00am with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Florence will be laid to rest at St. Bruno Cemetery following the service.
