Gerald H. Jacobson

Jacobson, Gerald H. 'Jerry' Of Oconomowoc, WI, Jerry found peace on January 1, 2019 at age 83 years. Born in Hixon, Wisconsin to Sidney and Margie Jacobson on March 22, 1935. Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Margaret, his children Tom (Annette), Lynn (Dave Merrick), Steve (Judy) Jacobson, his sister Donna Nylander, seven grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceded in death by his brother Ken Jacobson and his sister Neoma Dresser. Following graduation from UW Whitewater, Jerry began his career as a teacher for ten years at Oconomowoc High School. Two National Science Foundation Fellowships supported his receipt of a Masters degree in Educational Psychology from UW Milwaukee, leading to a position as Director of Student Services with the Germantown school district. Jerry also had an entrepreneurial side that led to the founding of J&M Mini-Warehouse and construction of the first personal storage units in Oconomowoc. Jerry was an avid car enthusiast enjoying new and classic cars and owned a 1968 Firebird convertible and a 1954 MG convertible replica. He had a great sense of humor and could be counted on to tell jokes that made you groan. A visitation will be held on January 9, 2019 from 3:30pm to 5:30pm at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (1165 E Summit Ave, Oconomowoc). No service will follow the visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Institute, Salvation Army or AngelsGrace.
