Gerald “Jerry” J. Foust, age 79, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 2, 1942 to John and Florence (Kemp) Foust in Dubuque, Iowa. Jerry was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Upon graduating from Manchester High School, he proudly served in the U.S Army at Camp Century in Greenland, the ‘City Under the Ice’ in the 1960s. After his service, he worked for A.O. Smith for thirty years. He was passionate about woodworking in his shop and helping others in any way he could. Jerry enjoyed spending time on the lake with his family, playing cards, and going fishing. His friends and family could always count on him for a phone call, a great sense of humor, and to sneak a dessert whenever possible. He is survived by his wife, Janet; his children, John and Carrie Foust, Mike and Shelley Foust, Deborah Foust, Jeff and Jeri Jo (Foust) Mallow, and Cassidy Foust, Jerry’s AFS son, Juan Valdes, his late wife, Wicha, and his children Juan, Jr. and Wicha; his siblings, Ron (Margaret) Foust, Bob (MaryAnn) Foust, Mary Jean Uptegraph; his ten grandchildren, Ryanne (Brayden) Wendt, Zach (Joanna) Foust, Caleb Foust, Micah Foust, Ethan Mallow, Carl Hermanson, Seth Foust, Andy Hermanson, Matthew Foust, and Rachel Foust; his one great-grandchild, Joena Wendt. He is preceded in death by his late wife, Diana; along with his brother, Richard Foust; and sister, Judy (Foust) Gudenkauf. As Jerry wished, a private celebration of life with immediate family will take place on September 2nd, his 80th birthday. His family encourages those who knew Jerry to celebrate him that day with a cup of coffee, a game of cards, a dish of custard, a joke or any other way that honors his memory.
