It is with great sadness that the family of Gerald “Louie” James Larson age 75, Delafield, WI, announces his passing on October 14th, 2017 after a brief illness. Louie is survived by his son Joseph Larson (Ogdensburg), daughter Christine (Trent) Sveom (Verona), grandson’s Allen Sveom, Nate Larson and Staff Sergeant Joshua Larson. Siblings Michael (Denise) Larson, Pat Adametz, Ron (Barb) Larson, Nancy Swiggum (Dave Manthe), James Jr. Larson, Marlene Wells and many nieces, nephews as well as countless friends. Louie was born and raised on the family farm located outside of Montfort WI. As the oldest of his siblings Louie often shared stories of his close family and the times growing up. Louie was joined in marriage to Alice Hrubes on February 8th, 1964 and for the next 47 years they built a life together filled with family, laughter and adventures. As a young adult Louie moved to Madison WI where he worked for the Madison Dairy and Hults Chevrolet, ultimately finding his career home at Klein-Dickert glass. Louie’s work eventually moved his family to the Delafield area where he resided for nearly 40 years. Louie was preceded in death by his parents, James and Maggie Larson, an infant sister Kathleen and his wife Alice Larson. Known for his love of his family, charm and wit, Louie had the ability to make a new friend wherever he roamed. He loved the simple things in life like a cold beer, a good meal and a nice lawn. He was a good man who was always a helping hand for a project and his wisdom was shared with everyone who had the chance to work alongside him. He was truly loved by all that knew him. Please join us for a visitation on Friday, October 20 from 4 pm until 7 pm at Pagenkopf Funeral Home located at 1165 Summit Ave, Oconomowoc, WI 53066. A short visitation and service will be held at St. Anthony’s on the Lake W280N2101 Prospect Ave, Pewaukee, WI 53072 on Saturday, October 21st starting at 9am with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 am. Interment will follow the services at the St. Johns Nepomuc Cemetery in Muscoda WI. Special thanks to his wonderful Meadows of Delafield neighbors and Norm Hanson his devoted friend for the past 40 years. We also wish to acknowledge the care from countless nurses and staff at Aurora Medical Center, especially Dr. Gil Rodrigues for his care and compassion for the last few months.
