Geraldine E. Hocking

Gerrie Hocking, age 90, of Dousman, WI, passed away on Saturday, September 14th. Gerrie was born the daughter of William and Elsie Obermueller on November 19, 1928. Gerrie lived her childhood years in Glenwood City, WI, and River Falls, WI. Gerrie married Charles E. Hocking on August 14, 1948. They lived together in River Falls, WI; Menomonee, WI; New Richmond, WI; and Oconomowoc, WI; and finally in Dousman, WI at Three Pillars. She was employed with various companies, businesses, and school districts. She spent 30 years with the Oconomowoc School district, from where she retired. Gerrie was involved with many organizations, clubs, and also volunteered. Her interests included being a seamstress, interior design, writing, and dancing. Her husband and daughter were the priority in her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Elsie Obermueller; and brother, Don Obermueller. She is survived by her husband and best friend, Charles; their daughter, Dawn Hocking; and her sisters, Arlene Malmer and Diane Esswein. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 22nd, at 2pm at Three Pillars Senior Living Communities (375 State Road 67, Dousman, WI 53118) with visitation from 1 pm until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to: Oconomowoc Food Pantry (P.O. Box 832 Oconomowoc, WI 53066), Lake Area Free Clinic (1856 Armour Road Oconomowoc, WI 53066), or Three Pillars Senior Living Communities (375 State Road 67, Dousman, WI 53118).
