Gilbert L. Gaugert

Gilbert "Gil" Gaugert, age 92 of Oconomowoc, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 30, 2019. Gil is survived by his loving wife Evelyn, his children Susan (Richard) Trofka, Beth Johnson (fiancé Jamey Seefeldt) and Polly Gaugert. His grandchildren Adam, Alex, Trent and Claire Trofka and Jack and Kate Johnson along with his brother Kenneth Gaugert and sister Marilyn Stover. Gil is further survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Lu (LaVerne) Bickle; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don (Valerie) Gottschalk; brother-in-law Jim Gottschalk and sister-in-law Marion Holtz along with many other relatives and friends. Gil was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Erna Gaugert, brother Robert Gaugert, brother-in-law and sister-in-law George and Kathryn Meinel and brother-in-law Richard Stover. Gil was a WWII veteran and then the former owner of Gaugert Service, Inc. where he served as president and treasurer of the corporation. He was a member of the Jefferson and Waukesha County Agri-Business organizations, St. John's Lutheran Church in Sullivan and associate member of Faith Lutheran Church in Naples, FL. He was a former member of the Sullivan Fire Department, Sullivan Civic Association and the American Legion. Gil will truly be missed by his family, friends and everyone that knew him. A funeral service for Gil will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 4:00 PM with a visitation for family and friends starting at 2:30 PM all to take place at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sullivan, WI. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church in Sullivan, WI or Faith Lutheran Church in Naples, FL.
