Glenn Norbert Reinemann, 86, passed away on March 15, 2017 at Angels Grace Hospice succumbing to cancer. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 3 pm at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (1165 E Summit Ave. Oconomowoc). A veterans military honors burial will follow in spring at Kohler Woodland Cemetery 370 Woodland Road, Kohler WI 53044. Family and friends may call from 3 pm until the service which will start at 4 pm at the funeral home. Glenn was born January 10, 1931 in Sheboygan, WI to Wilfred and Lorraine (Kanzelberger) Reinemann. He graduated from Kohler High School and from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Metallurgical Engineering. On June 20, 1953 he married the former Joyce Ellen Schumann in Kohler. Glenn served in the US Army - SCARWAF on special duty to the US Air Force as an engineer in Alaska, helping to build the Defense Early Warning system during the Korean War. After the army, Glenn spent his career working for the Morris Bean and Company in Ohio, retiring as Vice President of Research and Development. Glenn was civic oriented and served two terms as City Commissioner in Xenia Ohio. Throughout his career and after he retired Glenn and Joyce enjoyed traveling the US and abroad. He was an avid home hobbyist, in which time his skills developed as a woodworker and master craftsman, culminating in his building of his and Joyce’s retirement home in Maribel Wisconsin. Glenn loved wood working and continued his hobby for years until he was forced to stop due to vision loss. After his vision loss, Glenn continued living independently, learning and exploring all aspects of technology for the blind. Glenn lived for several years in Green River, Wyoming before moving back to the badger state to live at Three Pillars, in Dousman where he became a Mason and member in good standing at the Glenn L Humphreys Lodge No 364. He was preceded in death by his parents, by the love of his life for 45 years, his wife Joyce in 1998, his son Michael Reinemann in 2015, and his brothers John, Floyd and Roger Reinemann. Survivors include his sister Judy Vreeke; his 2 sons, Mark (Debbie) Reinemann, Carl (Pamela) Reinemann and his daughter Julie (Steve) Milligan; 5 grandchildren Dan Milligan, Thomas Milligan, Tiffany Dewitt, Scott Reinemann and Jacob Reinemann; and 4 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
