Hedwig Vetter

Hedwig (nee Seidemann) Vetter, age 99, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at her home in Wilkinson Woods Assisted Living, Oconomowoc. Hedy was born August 29, 1912, in Danzig, Germany, a daughter of Carl and Anna (nee Nelipowitz) Seidemann. She married Werner Voigt in Chicago in 1941; he preceded her in death in 1954. She married Henry Vetter of Madison in 1987; he also preceded her in death. Also preceded in death by daughter-in-law Martha and step-grandson Louis Espinoza. She is survived by her children, Werner Voigt of Mesa, AZ, Charlotte Voigt of Oconomowoc, Marguerite (Les) Schwarzentraub of Monticello, IL, and Fred (Romaine) Voigt of Milwaukee, three grandsons and five great-grandchildren. Also survived by step-children Barb (George) Ketterer, Bob Vetter and five step-grandchildren. Hedy loved nature and the arts, especially dance and music, with polkas and classical being her favorites. Visitation will be held at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 36821 Sunset Drive, Dousman, WI at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2012; a memorial service will begin at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to The Salvation Army, The Nature Conservancy or the charity of one's choice.
