Henry McHalsky

April 9, 1949 — April 4, 2025

Henry McHalsky

Henry grew up in Pewaukee, WI, and West Covina, CA, before settling in Lake Country. He worked at Quality Aluminum Casting Company in Waukesha and was also a long-term employee at Brownberry Ovens/Bimbo Bakery in Oconomowoc. In his spare time, Henry loved writing music, singing and playing guitar, especially with his friends in "the band”. He absolutely LOVED birds and birdwatching (he could ID any bird he heard or saw!). He also was an avid hiker and bicyclist. He succumbed to Parkinson’s disease after several years of declining health.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents Josephine and Martin McHalsky, and his long-term partner Kathy Spuhler. He is survived by his son Ben McHalsky, sister Margaret (Rick) McKee, brother Joe, and former wife and good friend Julee McHalsky; also extended family Maureen Spuhler and John Morris, good friends Ken Schmidt, Harry (master CD creator) Kern, and his bandmates in Trend Benders: John Bouzide, Mark Hoene and Mike Nelson; plus the folks at Fox Music in Watertown. The family would like to thank the staff at The View at Pine Ridge in Oconomowoc for their compassionate care.

Henry will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He has now crossed the Rainbow Bridge and will join his beloved dog Hanna and cat Cecile.
