Howard J. Haugen, age 89, of Dousman, WI formerly of Kenyon, MN., passed away peacefully on Friday, November 9, 2018. Howard is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Cordelle; his children Rebecca (Thomas) Cotey and Heidi Haugen; his grandchildren Christina Cotey and Danielle Radix; his great grandchild Oliver Buruin; his brothers Donald (Marilyn) Haugen and Walter Haugen; his sisters Marge (Bill) Montag, Beverly DeLyser and Audrey (Roger) Dietsch along with other family and friends. Howard is preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Erva Haugen, and his brothers Robert (Carol) Haugen, Charles (Georgia) Haugen and Roger Haugen. Howard was the oldest of nine children. He graduated from Kenyon High School in 1947 and in 1950 married his childhood sweetheart Cordelle Underdahl, daughter of Richard and Pearl(Lee)Underdahl. Howard's work for most of his life was traveling and in middle management for General Cigar Company of New York and Swisher International of Jacksonville, FL. Howard, Cordelle, Rebecca and Heidi moved from Kenyon, Minnesota in 1965 and resided in Madison, Wisconsin for four years and then moved to Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Over the years Howard and Cordy traveled mainly in the United States for business and pleasure. When Howard retired in 1994 they purchased a motor home and spent four years traveling in it. In 1998 they built a winter home in Sun City West, Arizona and enjoyed it during the winter months for fourteen years. They sold their Arizona home in 2012. Howard was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin for 48 years. Howard was a Mason for 61 years. Services for Howard will be held at the Ewald Chapel in Three Pillars (375 Hwy 67, Dousman) on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 1 pm with a gathering of family and friends to follow the service. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Three Pillars in Dousman and AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc for the loving care shown to Howard and his family.
