Jacob Craig Goodenough’s beautiful soul went to be with God January 17, 2025, at the age of 25.
Those who are waiting to join him are his parents Craig and Heather Goodenough; brother Tyler Goodenough; sister Sarai Goodenough; aunts and uncles Sharon Vorpahl, Theresa and Rocky Andretti, Amy and David Kinsman; Grammy Joy Mick; Grandparents Kyle and Dianna Goodenough; and many cousins and friends.
Those that are already with him are his Grandfather Leonard Mick Jr., Great Grandparents Leonard and Ethel Mick; Great Grandparents Charles and Neoma Goodenough, Leo and Viola Handeland, William and Doretta Helwig; as well as many great aunts and uncles. Those crossing the rainbow bridge with Jacob, wagging their tails are Tucker, Maggie and Ricky.
Jacob was with us for such a short time, but anyone who met him, and spent a little time, got to be with the most generous, kind-hearted, gentle giant they had ever known. Many of us were blessed to know Jacob during his Hot Wheels, Legos, Nerf guns, wrestling and slushy drinking stages. We continued to be with him watching anime and playing video games. Maybe you were with him tubing behind a boat, or sitting around a campfire, eating gorp, and building a story line by line. Jacob liked sharing facts and trivia especially of medieval cultures. Maybe you got to enjoy Jacob’s cooking and baking for an army or played a game of Aggravation or Relative Insanity followed up with walking around jamming to music and then falling asleep watching a crime show. People could see him in town walking or riding his bike or heading to get the flavor of the day at Culver’s. He was so proud when he recently received his driver’s license and purchased a car and looked forward to going to flea markets to look for or re-create historic weapons. Jacob was an artist in drawing, ceramics, metal work and even created his own writing language. He earned his degree from WCTC in welding, as well as metal fabrication, and was planning on continuing his education to receive a certificate in tool and die. Jacob was loyal and enjoyed his work and co-workers at D&H Industries, especially when a quota or personal record was beat. Jacob had a strong faith in God and often engaged family in discussions of the Bible. He spoke few words, but his actions touched many, including his final act of being a Wisconsin Organ and Tissue donor for over seventy-five people.
No matter at what point you may have entered Jacob’s life, we now welcome you to join us as we remember him. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 25th at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (NEW LOCATION: 2228 N. Silver Maple Lane, Oconomowoc WI 53066) from 1-3pm followed by a service. Please feel free to dress in any attire you wish, however, Jacob was most comfortable in blue jeans and an orange tee-shirt, therefore Jacob’s immediate family will be dressing in his favorite attire to honor him.
The family would like to thank Jacob’s work family at D&H Industries, all emergency responders and the village that helped raise him to be the amazing man he was.
In lieu of flowers, please write down memories of how Jacob touched your life and how you knew him, so they can be treasured by his family and friends for years to come.
