James Wagner

James 'Jim' Wagner, age 70 of Port Charlotte, FL, formally of Okauchee, WI died peacefully on Thursday, October 18, 2012. He was born to Robert and Bessie Wagner in Wauwatosa in 1942. His 39 year career at Ameritech progressed from climbing telephone poles to retiring in corporate security. He also served in the Wisconsin National Guard Military Police, retiring after 20 years of service, was a member of the Okauchee Lions Club and American Legion Post #399. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Janice, children Jill (Chuck) Markham, John (Andrea) Wagner and grandchildren Ethan, Lydia and Grant. Also surviving are his siblings Carol (Lynn) Dailey and Robert Wagner. Known to be 'Mr. Fix It', his constant tinkering and his determination will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Mapleton, WI from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2012. A funeral mass for Jim will begin at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Froedtert Hospital Foundation-CCC (Clinical Cancer Center), 9200 W. Wisconsin Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53226. 'The family would also like to thank everyone at Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa for their outstanding care, comfort and support.'
