Jane Marie Phelps-Tenhover

Jane Marie Phelps-Tenhover, age 95, passed away peacefully on Christmas Day. Jane was born January 3, 1927 in Milwaukee, WI to Francis “Art” and Evelyn “Ruby” Rynders.

She will be missed by her four children, Roger (Sharon) Phelps, Susan (Robert) DeMott, Jeffrey (Kathleen) Phelps, Barbara (Paul) Knoebel. Jane is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; and the Tenhover family, Jim (Kathi) and Tom (Sue).

Jane is preceded in death by her spouses, Richard Phelps and Ralph Tenhover; parents; brother, Dean Rynders.

Jane’s hobbies included: knitting, sewing, quilting, gardening and being a grandmother. She loved to travel (itchy feet) and was an avid Badger fan.

The family would like to thank the staff at Azura Memory Care, where Jane was a resident for four years, and also to the staff at Preceptor Home Health Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion they have provided Jane and her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Capuchin Community Services and St. Anthony on the Lake Choir in Jane’s name are appreciated.

A visitation will take place on Monday, January 9, 2023 from 9:30 am-11:00 am at St. Anthony on the Lake (W280N2101 Prospect Ave, Pewaukee, WI 53072) with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Jane will be laid to rest next to Richard and her parents at Wisconsin Memorial Park at a later date.
