Janet J. Sandlass

Janet J. Sandlass of Oconomowoc (formerly of Wales) went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at the age of 86 years. She was born in La Crosse on March 30, 1938, the daughter of Everett J. and Eunice R. (nee Prochaska) Lueck.

Jan graduated from Central High School in La Crosse in 1956, and married the love of her life, Robert Sandlass, on November 30, 1958.

She spent her early married life being a wonderful mother raising three children and supporting her family at home. She continued that support and founded long-time local business, KM Sports, in Pewaukee with her husband. She remained committed to the family business well into her 80’s and would frequently be found there. The legacy of this business continues with her children and grandchildren.

She was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pewaukee. She traveled extensively throughout the United States with her husband of 59 years in their RV and visited local lakes with their pontoon when home. She enjoyed a great brandy old fashioned and a quick trip to a casino for fun. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers and games with family and friends.

Janet will be sadly missed by her family: sons, Gary Sandlass and Brian (Amy) Sandlass; daughter Karen (Steve) Vasatko; daughter-in-law Kelly Sandlass; eight grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother.

A visitation for Janet will be held on Saturday, August 10 at 10 a.m. with the funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, W240N3103 Pewaukee Road, Pewaukee, WI 53072. Burial will take place privately at Salem Cemetery.
