Janice Thiel, the finest mother her kids, or grand kids, could ask for. In her youth she taught her kids strength, independence, ingenuity and compassion. She loved them no matter if they told her they loved her, that they hated her, or wouldn’t talk to her at all. She loved them as strongly from the day they entered her lives until the day she left theirs. Staying overnight at the hospital in her 60’s to be with her oldest daughter after major surgery, being a perpetually open home for her youngest daughter to find solace in times of despair, always loving her son with understanding and a heart full of motherly love, and teaching her grand kids through workbooks and homemade crafts. Janice Thiel, the toughest woman you’ll ever have met. After years on oxygen, after back surgeries, heart surgeries, heart attacks, stroke, and chronic pain, she fought to stay around. She fought through every night just to make it to the next day, she never asked “why me”, instead said “I’m still having fun”. She did more with a battered body than most people consider they can do in perfect health. Janice Thiel, caring friend, sister and supporter. Taking care of her brothers and sister when she was a kid herself, playing an active part in getting her friends and family through death, suicide and divorce. A closet supporter of virtually every local charity, and I’m pretty sure the biggest contributor to the continued business of publishers clearing house. Janice Thiel, maybe not a perfect woman, but one of the best. Janice Thiel, born February 1, 1947, survived by her three children, Tamara Pulvermacher, Kimberley Thiel, and Michael Thiel.
