Jean H Swanton

Jean H. Swanton, age 90 of Oconomowoc, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2016. Jean leaves behind her beloved husband of 66 years, James C. Swanton, her children Scott and Randy (Sandee) Swanton along with two grandchildren Ryan Swanton and Kara (Tony) Coates and her great granddaughter Charlotte Coates. Jean is further survived by her sister-in-laws Jane (William) Wierdsma and Jean Britt and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Jean was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Laura Hibbard and her brother-in-law Russell Britt. Funeral services for Jean will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM with a visitation for family and friends to start at 9:00 AM all to take place at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Oconomowoc, WI. Memorials in Jean's honor are suggested to the church. Jean was a seventh grade math teacher in Oconomowoc for over 26 years. In 1977, Jean was awarded the top award for teachers in Wisconsin. She and three other teachers were chosen as teacher of the year for the state of Wisconsin. She was the first place statewide choice for teachers representing the Middle and Junior High Schools. She loved her family deeply and will be missed by all.
