Jessica Lee Schumacher

Daughter, sister, mother, aunt, niece and friend, Jessica perished in the early morning of October 21, 2022 with her beloved children, Natalie Kleemeier, born January 11, 2008, Sofina Kleemeier, August 4, 2010, Colten and Lincoln McKisick, twins born July 8, 2019. Life will never be the same without these spirited loved ones.

Jessica was born in Waukesha to Dennis and Claudia Schuhmacher. Her father passed when she was in high school and she lost her mother recently to cancer in July. She is the loving sister to Tracy (Scott) Blakeway. Cherished aunt of Melissa Blakeway, Justin Blakeway, Megan (Ish) Soto, Jacob, Joseph, Jeremy and Aubrey Blakeway. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends living in the area.

She lived most of her life in Oconomowoc with her parents and dog, Precious. Jessica was creative and artistic like her father and they loved hanging out together. There were many backyard swimming pool parties that they enjoyed throughout the years. At an early age she traveled with her mother to Disney World and they swam with dolphins in the Florida Keys. Jessica went to St. Paul’s Grade School because her mother wanted her to get a good education and later to Oconomowoc High School.

Her greatest joy was her children and Jessica loved being their mom. She learned to be independent as a young mom. Kyle Kleemeier is her friend that she spent the last 14 years co-parenting with, for first Natalie, then Sofina. While the girls were in school she learned to cook the meals served at the Woods Assisted Living Facility in Oconomowoc. Once the boys arrived she devoted her time to them.

Jessica’s main focus of her life were her four children. As small as she was, she managed to carry almost 13 pounds of babies until the twins were born. When they were two months she could carefully pick them both up, balancing and holding one on each side of her at the same time. She smiled and stated, “See I got this.” During her days with the boys she was a devoted teacher. They could sing their ABC’s and she taped them to show others as a proud mother.

On October 10, 2020, Jessica married Connor McKisick, the father of her twin boys. It was a happy day for her family at the edge of Fowler Lake Park in Oconomowoc.

She wanted to live in Hartland because the schools were rated high. It was important to her that her girls get the best education. Natalie and Sofina had so many close friendships they wanted to keep. Jessica knew how important that was to their happiness. Jessica and her children will be missed by all who knew and loved them.

This tragedy should remind us that each day is another opportunity to show and say to others, “I love you.”
